Cheddar

Cheddar cheese, named after the village of cheddar in Somerset, England, has gained worldwide popularity as one of the most beloved cheeses. This cheese is made from pasteurized cow’s milk and is characterized by its yellow to orange-yellow color.

The production process of cheddar involves separating the curds and whey, after which salt is added to the curds. The curds are then kneaded and cut into cheddar blocks, allowing the remaining whey to drain. As cheddar matures, its flavor develops and becomes sharper over time. It is known for its relatively hard texture with a slightly crumbly consistency.

Industrial applications:

Processed cheese: cheddar is a popular choice for processed cheese manufacturing. Its flavor and texture make it suitable for blending with other cheeses to create creamy, and spreadable products.

Melted, shredded, grated, and sliced forms: cheddar is commonly available in forms that are easily melted, shredded, grated, or sliced. This versatility makes it ideal for use in a wide range of applications, such as toppings for burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and salads.

Ready-cooked dishes: cheddar adds a rich and savory taste to ready-cooked dishes. It can be incorporated into various recipes, including casseroles, soups, sauces, and baked goods.

Packaging:

Mozzarella

Mozzarella, a cheese widely recognized for its use on various types of pizza and oven dishes, has its origins rooted in Italy. It is crafted using a unique cheese-making technique called pasta filata, which involves stretching the cheese to create its distinctive structure. Mozzarella blocks are made from pasteurized cow’s milk, ensuring quality and safety. With its characteristic texture, Mozzarella is highly versatile and is particularly well-suited for shredding and melting applications.

Industrial applications:

Shredded: mozzarella’s melting properties make it an excellent choice for the production of melted and shredded cheese products. It has the ability to melt to a creamy and stringy texture.

Oven Dishes: mozzarella can be used in various oven dishes such as lasagna, casseroles, or baked pasta dishes.

Pizza and baking: mozzarella is renowned for being the essential cheese for pizza. Its meltability, mild flavor, and ability to develop a golden, bubbly crust when baked make it an ideal choice for pizza toppings. Additionally, mozzarella can be used in baking applications such as breads, rolls, and pastries.
